Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, aka Future, is an American rapper and singer. He is recognized as a pioneer in using auto-tuned melodies in trap music and is known for his mumble-styled vocals.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Future started his career using the stage name "Meathead" as a member of the Georgia-based musical collective Dungeon Family. He was nicknamed "The Future" by G-Rock after he performed in "Da Connect," a smaller hip-hop group within the collective.
In 2011, Future was discovered by fellow Atlanta rapper Rocko, who took him under his wing and signed him as a solo artist to A1 Recordings.
