Conflikt is a 20-year-old artist from Newcastle, Australia, whose journey into music was shaped by a love of rap and a desire to leave a lasting impact. Growing up around the boxing scene, where rap was ever-present, he discovered the powerful connection between music and self-expression.
Introduction
I’m Conflikt, and I’ve always been someone who felt a bit out of place growing up. Music, especially rap, has always been my comfort zone. My dad was a professional boxer, so I spent a lot of time in gyms and at fights, and rap was always playing in the background. It became such a big part of who I am.
I started writing raps when I was 14, but it wasn’t until I finished high school in 2021 that I decided to take music seriously. For me, it’s all about creating something meaningful and leaving it behind for others to connect with.
I pour my whole self into my music—flaws and all—because I know how it feels to grow up unseen and unheard. Music has changed that for me; it’s given me confidence and a purpose that I didn’t have before.
Discovering SOUNDRAW
I found out about SOUNDRAW through a post from On The Radar about the Raw Rap Challenge. I’m always curious about new ways to create, so I had to check it out. Honestly, I was excited to see how the technology worked, and when I tried it, I was impressed with the results.
Creating with SOUNDRAW
For the challenge, I made a track specifically for reels. I didn’t need to create a full song, but the process was incredibly seamless. I was able to quickly narrow down the sound I wanted and modify the beat to fit my vision. The amount of customisation SOUNDRAW offers is amazing—it’s perfect for artists who have a specific sound in mind.
Time was tight since I only had 24 hours after seeing the ad, but SOUNDRAW made it so easy. I created the beat in under five minutes, which gave me more time to focus on writing lyrics and recording. It really simplified my workflow and took a lot of the stress out of the process.
Tips for New Users
My biggest piece of advice? Create as much as you can and experiment with different sounds. Use all the features SOUNDRAW offers and make sure to add some variation to your beats to keep your listeners engaged. Also, if you’re serious about production, download the stems for your beat. They’ll help when it comes time to mix and master the final track and can take your sound to the next level.
Future Suggestions
One thing I’d love to see is even more variety in the sounds available on SOUNDRAW. The more niche, the better! I’d love the ability to create something like a gritty jazz rap beat with vocal samples right within the platform.
Also, more competitions would be great for giving back to the community and encouraging people to create. Expanding globally would be another awesome step for SOUNDRAW when the time is right.
Impact and Memorable Moments
SOUNDRAW has made me realise there are so many different ways to create music. Keeping an open mind when it comes to art has been such a game-changer for me.
One of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve had was performing in Brooklyn thanks to SOUNDRAW. Even though I didn’t win the competition, the chance to network with amazing people and share my music was something I’ll never forget.
Conflikt’s story highlights the transformative power of music and innovation. Through tools like SOUNDRAW, he continues to break barriers and inspire others to explore new possibilities in their creative journeys.
